Crckets Back and Better then ever!

EA has made a fine attempt at the cricket game. It is a well created game with lots of fun things to do.

The gameplay in this is quite good. Whether you are playing a test against the poms or a One Day International against the West Indies it is quite fun. I love hitting sixes or smashing fours. Another new feature added to Cricket 2004 is that you can customise the way your team looks by adjusting their height, weight, bowling/batting attributes and their fielding attributes.

The graphics in this game is alright. The actual players look nothing like what they do in real life. They all sort of look the same. When a bowler comes in to bowl a delivery or a batsman goes to hit the ball it does look some what realistic. All the spectators in the stands are like card board cutouts of real humans and they don't look much like anything. When a fieldsman goes to catch the ball it looks like he's catched it in his elbow but he holds it up like it is in his hand then throws it up in the air appealing to the umpire.

The sound in this game is quite good. I like the commentary by Richie Benaud and Jim Maxwell. It is quite good. The sound is good when you hit the ball from the bat and the cheer of the crowd is good. I also like the grunt of the bowler as he delivers a 100mph bullet towards the batsman.

Overall this is a good cricket with good gameplay and sound. The graphics lets it down a bit but that is alright. I would recommend this game to anyone who is interested.
