The second racing game in the Crash Universe

User Rating: 8 | Crash Nitro Kart PS2
This game is pretty much a remake of Crash Team Racing, the original Crash racing game. Unlike CTR, which was good and succeeded in many ways, this game isn't as good as it. Of course I am don't like to compare two games, if you do that then it makes one game look bad from the other, so I will be staying on the subject of CNK.

Story: 7.5
This time, you have to win a racing competition hosted by a evil overlord in the depths of space. We saw this before on the PlayStation in Crash's first racing game. The story is OK but not that important.

Gameplay: 8.5
The gameplay is really good. It is fun to drive around and attack other racers with weapons you have collected from boxes. Everything is well balanced fun from start to finish. The big problem I had was the drifting. When you make a sharp turn it seemed that you would turn too far, but after a couple of races you get used to it and it is fun to use. The gameplay is the main part of the game and the game creators did a good job at it.

Characters: 8.5
Everyone you could think of is in the roster. All the original people from the series are here and there are new people in the race. Everyone has there own unique attributes but and it all seems to balance out great. The bosses are very strange and fun to race against. All the characters are also well designed.

Graphics: 7.5
The graphics are nice and detailed. Everything is smooth and you can see everything that should be there. The levels look great while you drive through them all. I did find a few glitches and some points in a level I got confused because the colors would overlap each other making it look like a wall instead of the way to go.

Sound: 7
Well, the sound is pretty much the same as every other Crash game, nothing special here. I did notice that if a few things happen at once that the sound will either flip out or it won't make a noise at all.

Multiplayer: 8
The multiplayer is more fun then the single player since it is more aggressive and intense. There is a create a level type thin where you, you guessed it, create a level. Well, sort of. You just place items and other things around to play with a friend. There have been much added for multiplayer like a CTF type game, but it is just a lot more fun to play the real game and levels with another person.

This game has a lot of fun but most of the extra things added to the game seem like they don't need to be there. This is a fun game but you should just stick with CTR.
