The game that started the awesome Crash Bandicoot series.

Crash Bandicoot has certainly gone downhill over the years but it's nice to be reminded of when Crash Bandicoot was great and this game definitely does that. Yeah, it's a simple premise but one can't help but want to play through this game. In the opening cut-scene, it would seem like Crash Bandicoot was created to be the ultimate bandicoot warrior or something but the machine rejected him and now he must rescue his girlfriend from Dr. Neo Cortex, his evil creator (fat load of good this does as she later dumps Crash for Pinstripe Potoroo so I've heard, the game never makes mentions this, I got it off of imdb.com). Anyway, the gameplay is very linear and there's also a lot of 1-ups in the game as well. 100 mangos will grant you an extra life. The annoying thing about this game is, you can only save after you get 3 Tawna tokens and complete the bonus area, you get a Gem, or a Key. Gems are obtained by destroying all the boxes in the level without dying. This isn't the best game I've ever played as a whole especially since some of the future Crash games are definitely a lot better and more complex than this game but it's certainly a great game that's definitely worth playing whether you're a fan of platform hoppers or you want to know where Crash Bandicoot got his start.
