Wrath of Cortex is a good entry to the series, but it doesn't do anything new and may leave many fans unsatisfied.

User Rating: 7 | Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (Platinum) PS2

Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex is the fourth platforming game in the Crash Bandicoot series. In the game, Neo Cortex is using Elementals and a robotic super bandicoot named Crunch to dominate the world. Nothing special in the storyline. The graphics are decent and colorful, but most of the levels are rehashed from previous Crash games like snow levels, island levels, but there also some neat different levels like the western level. The controls are easy and the game plays like three previous Crash platforming games. There are some variety in levels like using wumpa bazooka and other machines, but the machines are frustrating to control and especially Coco's spaceship level is pure pain. Luckily there's only one that kind of level. Wrath of Cortex brings nothing new to the franchise so it may feel really old school and outdated to many fans. Still, if a game is this fun to play, it can be easily forgived. The musics are pretty memorable, but can't compare to the previous games. The voice acting is as good as always. The game is pretty short and you can easily complete it in less than six hours. Wrath of Cortex may feel rehashed, but it's still a good entry to the classic series.

+ Pros: Decent graphics, easy to control, feels like a Crash game

- Cons: Nothing new, machines are hard to control, short
