CB: The Wrath of Cortex is an amazing game, but you'll spend more time waiting for it to load than actually playing it.

User Rating: 7.1 | Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (Platinum) PS2
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex steps the series up, much like other games, with new level styles and, now on the PS2, extremely improved graphics. The music is solid as it's always been, and the gameplay is fantastic as usual. However, the thing that makes this game, as Simon Cowell might say, "insipid" or "dreadfully awful," is the loading time. There is no loading minigame or anything of the sort. Instead, you get to watch an animation of Crash perpetually falling, and falling, and falling... After a while, you begin to get sick of it. The amount of time spent gazing at this loading screen is ridiculous! If you plan to buy the game, please do yourself a favor and rent it first, and if you do decide to buy it, make sure that you have something to do during the long loading screens, like write a book. If you have a PS2, which you probably do if you're reading this review, then go out and buy Crash Bandicoot: Warped for the original PS. You'll be able to find it at your local video game store in the "used" section, and it won't cost you nearly as much as The Wrath of Cortex, and you won't have to suffer through hours of the loading screen. Trust me, it's a good idea.
