1. GRAPHICS- This game has the best Golden Source graphics I have seen, the character models are perfectly crafted, the level detail is just gorgeous, and the bullet shells ejecting from you gun and bullet holes piercing through a wall is just amazing to see and really gets the FEAR into you. Even though this game has flashy graphics, it does come with a price, the explosion effects don't really look all that good though, rather then an actual C4 bomb going off, it looks like a friggin A-Bomb went off. Another thing that bugged me is some of the weapon animations, Some from instance is that when they reload, they don't always pull the magazine all the way down allowing you to see them just pulling the mag down about 3 inches and putting the same empty one back in, other then that, this game is fantastic to look at.
2. GAMEPLAY- This game has some of the best default keys ever to be put into a PC FPS, every key is right where it should be and if you don't like the default keys, then you can fix them yourself to your settings. The Enemy A.I. has been greatly improved from the original HL1 A.I., the bot players will pick a large selection of weapons and try to complete their objective, the enemy bots will suppress, use flashbangs, and even use riot shields to kill you and your team. This game has Solid gameplay and even to this day I enjoy launching this game and playing with BOTS every now and then.
3. MULTIPLAYER- The Multiplayer in this game has only one rule, KILL, The muliplayer in this game is one of a kind, 32 people are divided into two teams, Counter-Terrorist and Terrorist, the object for the Terrorist is to successfully plant a bomb at a bomb location and defend the location until the bomb explodes earning the team a victory, the Terrorist also have a second objective depending on the map, the terrorist must hold a group of hostages and kill off every one of the rescuing Counter-Terrorist, now for the Counter-Terrorist, the Counter-Terrorist must stop the planting of the bomb and kill off every terrorist in the round to earn them a victory, the Counter-Terrorists other objective to earn them a victory is to rescue all the hostages allowing them to win. When a player scores a kill, objective, or his team wins, the player gains a certain amount of money, the player then can use this money to purchase different types of weapons, body armor, bomb defuasal kits, and grenades, for a game that came out about 10 years ago, this game still has one of the biggest online communities to this date. The game is one of the best Multiplayer games that you will ever play, trust me.
4. OVERALL- Overall this game takes a massive step in online First Person Shooters, this game was one and still is the best online shooters to be ever created, This game was almost a 9.5 but since this game has become very popular, there has been incidents were alot of hackers play. for every5 servers you can bet your butt that you will find a hacker. Even though this game happens to be Vac-Secured, there is still plenty of UnVac-Secured servers that are quite fun but 1 out of every 3 players on that server is using hacks. Other then that this game is really addicting and will probably have a live community for another 10 years. The game is a a must have for any PC owners and Trust me, you will not get tired of this game, no matter how many times you say I hate this game, you will always come back to it again and again.
