I'm another sucker for survival-horror games who actually get some enjoyment out of it.

I stand by whatever comments the official reviewer said about this game and yes, the in-game graphics, animation and sound design are really sub-par. So what makes it stand out? This is actually from my own point of view, so the reason for its high recommendation from me is the fact that hey, I can actually conquer this game without a walkthrough! Haha! And I can actually bear through all the sucky production flaws and come out victorious! Whoa!

It may seem like an insult from your point of view but let me explain. Most games of this genre feature a progressive combat difficulty climb and enigmatic puzzles that aim to baffle and spook you while you're at it. And from my experience, I actually have to come to a point in almost every such game where I really needed walkthroughs to help me across. But tadah! Countdown Vampires must have been very unpopular that nobody talks about or bothers to come up with hints for the illogical puzzles this games possess. I took a hell of a time using trial and error methods and tons of luck solving all the seemingly irrelevant and perhaps half-finished puzzles that every time I trigger the correct combination for every dumb riddle layout, I cried in joy and hugged my sofa or my mum who's passing by.

The battles are inconsistently hard due to very stingy ammo placement and most of the time you have to go melee. This is like playing Double Dragon Xtreme or something. Well it shouldn't have been like that since it can put newcomers or even hardcore gamers off looking for a decent game. Nonetheless, Countdown Vampires tested my dedication to video games, and I prevailed. Ha.
