It is true: this is NOT a game to give a Corvette fan.

A friend let me borrow this game. Im surprised he didnt let me have it. Then again, he has no taste for video games. He's still playing his N64. When this game first came out I went looking for it. But now, Im glad I never found it.

The gameplay is one of the most noticeable drawbacks. Its just a racing game. Theres nothing much else to it. In eac time era there are three races to complete: Rally, Grand Prix, and Extra. In rally, the traffic is not a problem though. Its simple slow moving vehicles. When you hit them and only when you actually hit them do you spin out or slow down. Instead of getting near them and being bumped off the road in some other race games. But thats about all the good points there are to the racing. But when you bump into another racer on the grand prix circuits, you slow down. When they bump into you, you slow down. Another annoying factor is: Hard left! Hard Right! Slam on brakes only to find out that it was never hard to turn. Theres no real since of accomplishment when you complete a race.

The graphics are above what youd think this game would have. In fact, the graphics are pretty nice if you dont stare at a game just to find out whats wrong with it. The cars are well done in the selection screen, but in racing they are just blocks. You can see the driver in the convertible cars, but when you spin out, he goes flat. Another drawback is the fact that you can only see about 30 feet in front of you. If the view were a little longer, it might have been ok. But at the same time, the distance isnt bad enough to make you crash into another car. You can at least see what cars are on the road and you can see the turns. The backgrounds are various but youd do best if you didnt pay attention to them at all. You can change the viewpoints using the select button. But that will do little to affect your racing unless it distracts you.

The sound is atrocious. Its the same song throughout the entire game. From the menu screen to the racing. The victory song is different, and so is the ending credits song. I think. The engines are whiny and sound nothing like real Vettes. But thats midi files for you.

Ive been playing this game since yesterday and Im about half done with it already. Needless to say, its not going to keep you interested in it for long. Its also not going to be one of your favorites for long.

Im a major Corvette fan. I love'em. But this game is just... horrible.
