C.O.P is a big deal with little problems, but these problems are so annoying, it's just not worth it....

User Rating: 4 | C.O.P.: The Recruit DS
So the DS attempts to have a Grand Theft Auto-like game. It's successful with it's non-mature setting, but it's so buggy and annoying, I just asked myself, the game and premise is good, but why keep playing? Why? Because it's so addictive, which is a bad thing for a game like C.O.P...

This was my favorite part of the game. The premise is that a criminal is now a rookie cop. So with his magnums, assault rifles, and shotguns, he sets off to off every criminal in the city, and anyone in his way...
And that's what makes the game so damn good.

This is the problem. The driving was hard as nails, even more hard than GTA4, yes, they managed to do it. But then while trying to not get into a wreck, I managed to crush a garbage truck with the cop car I was driving in! Then your offing the terrorists. It works okay, but the control scheme is terrible. move with the D-Pad, and shoot with R or L, it's just annoying and ends up being a mediocre shooter.

/Music/2-10
Nothing but a static radio and some dry music with terrible voice acting. You would think to make it more like GTA4 with radio stations, but you know the DS, not much GB when it comes to sandbox style games.

/Overall/4-10
So it's a good idea, but it just end up being mediocre and left unhinged. Story is top-notch. Though gameplay makes the game, well, playable. So I'm sad to say this game is a disappointment, as I expected this game for a long time. So I must say either rent it, or wait for a price reduction for a way better deal...
