Conflict: Global Terror
On first sight, it is obvious that the devs at------ have indeed put a great deal of effort into the creation of this installment. The game is somewhat more visually appealing than its predecessors (granted splinter cell it is not, but it is a lot better then it used to be) and there has been a lot on new abilities and commands added as well. The sound and music are also very well done and helps to create the illusion of heavy small arms combat. The AI was also a refreshing change from that of previous Conflict games with smarter more aggressive foes that do everything in their power to place you and your team in a postmortem situation. The enemy soldiers seek and use cover very effectively and will lob grenades, a tremendous amount of firer power at you as others try to flank your position. There are also tanks and emplacement heavy weapons at key positions that provide an effective amount of security. In the single play mode if you do not use good tactics when deploying your team, you will quickly become overwhelmed and killed. The game has the regular difficulty setting and the combat feels intense and satisfying, you are provided the latest in military weaponry and when you run out of rounds, which you will, you are able to pick up the weapons of fallen enemy. Your team does an outstanding job of covering your back and most likely sees hidden enemies long before you do. All in all Conflict Global Terror is by far the best in the series, but it is not all cookies and cream, there are one or two things that will annoy you even if it is just a little and there are times when your teammates would run in to the line of enemy fire as they attempt to escape a grenade and then fail to return to cover. I also have a problem with the way the devs decided to end the game, perhaps they were under the impression that this decision would create an atmosphere of anticipation as we wait for the next Conflict game. I will not go into detail with this and still encourage fans of the series to get this game it is a lot of fun, so much fun that you most likely will not mind the little things that should have been done differently.
