Waste of your time people.

User Rating: 5.8 | Commandos Strike Force PS2
"Commandos: Strike Force" is one of those games that look great on the box art so you buy it. You run home and quickly rip the game from its package before jamming it into your PS2 and booting it up.

Then you get in game and figure out the graphics suck and you find yourself in crouch possession for most of the game. I mean the graphics look like they belong in something no better than "Looney Toons: Sheep Raider."

Before long you'll find yourself doing nothing but crouching your way through missions with nothing but a throwing knife or piano wire compared to your adversaries MP-40 sub machine guns.

But god forbid if you use an actual gun, lets say a Thompson, you'll quickly see the hind end of a German as he runs to bring an entire garrison down on you.

The game also has no personal feel or connection the gamer can make with it as, even though the characters HAVE names, they're refereed to simply as Sniper, Spy, and Green Beret.

They also should have spent more time in developing historical accuracy as within the first twenty minutes you see men jumping from planes without 'hooking-up.' Hooking-up was what paratroopers did before a jump, they would hook a cable to the roof of the plane and when they jumped the parachute cover would come off, releasing the parachute. In this game your man jumps from a plane, no hooking up, no rip cord.

I also find that not enough time and effort was put into to setting up a time and place that things occur. First mission for example; in the briefing it states the Nazis have there backs to the wall, yet your jumping into France in good knows what year.

For these reasons and the fact that I'm an amateur historian of the time period and hate to see the facts so misconstrued I give this game a 5.8 out of 10.
