Command and Conquer Generals a hell of a game!
The overall agenda of the game is to build and command units through 21 campaign missions and hundreds of multiplayer and skirmish maps.
The campaign missions are fun and exciting which each have their own challenge to put your skills to the test. But some missions are just too easy to beat and can be really boring especially when the overall objective is to just blow up the enemy. You play as 3 factions the USA, China and GLA better known as the Global liberation army.
The story is basically simple, one group of people decides to take over the world In this case the GLA, and the other 2 factions try to stop them. It's pretty basic but you will find a lot of detail in the story which almost makes up for the simple storyline.
The cut scenes in the game are an extremely weak point in the game, they are all just seeing units killing each other without actually seeing any humans talk its all bang bang and run away. Though sometimes it can look interesting and seeing dams collapsing and units getting torn up may look very satisfying if you're an action kind of person.
The graphics of the game are just terrible when you zoom in on a tank u can see many pixels and when you zoom in on infantry you can't see any detail what so ever it's all just a few shapes put together. They don't even put any more detail in the cut scenes it's all pixilated and simple.
The actual game play is really good you can command a wide variety of tanks infantry and aircraft each with its own unique weapons and special abilities. It can range from stealing money to huge air raids and allot of thought has been put into the actual units and game play.
Online play is another weak point in the game. Although once you start a game with good players it can be fun. Reasons that it's not good are because finding friends are basically impossible, hacking the game and cheat maps are common and it is very annoying getting kicked out of games just because your rating is low. Online is weak but once you start you will find it's allot of fun.
Once you finish the game there's not allot to do except for play online and vs the AI which by the way is fairly intelligent. There are no bonus objectives no different angles to complete the game from so be prepared unless you really like the game to lose interest after you finish the game like I did.
In conclusion command and conquer generals is very good with overall game play but lacks in graphics and online play with a few crappy cut scenes. You may find it really fun and exciting at first but later you really find that it's not all that great. This games worth checking out but rent it first to make sure you will like it.
