Milking a dead cow....
This is without question the worst game I have played in the last five years. Maybe my expectations were a little high, but with such superb predecessors starting with the groundbreaking C&C, I did expect something that was actually entertaining to play. What they seem to have done is rip out the parts of the game that were actually fun and replace them with gimmicks that add nothing to the overall experience.
Say goodbye to resource exploitation and base building.... Instead your MCV appears from the ether onto the battlefield and you can then build combat units until your pathetically small unit cap is reached. You do get 2 extra levels of units that you can access by collecting a small number of tech crystals that can be found on the map, as well as a few other unit upgrades.
For solo missions you then go on to an stream of standard C&C commando type missions, since there are no bases to build so base building missions are out in this one. The whole GDI campaign took me about a day, the experience was so tedious I didn't bother with NOD and the SCRIN seem to be completely absent.
Multiplayer/skirmish missions are nothing like previous versions of C&C either. You basically have to hold a certain number of points on the map to gain points to get to a predetermined target before your enemy does, at the same time collecting tech crystals to upgrade your small number of units. Dull doesn't do it justice.
You can't cripple an enemy by taking out all their structures because after a short time they get another MCV appearing, and the MCV can start building combat units as soon as it enters the field so even if you do take out all the units and their MCV they are back to full strength in a few minutes.
The fact that you have to have a permanent internet connection to play anything didn't bother me tbh, I don't run the game anywhere but at home on my desktop, having to log in every time I run the game was a little annoying.
If you have more money than sense and want to see what all the complaints are about go out and get the game, it should keep you busy(not entertained) for a day or two, feels like it was written by a team of people who have never played any game before, truly shocking, if you have more than half a brain give it a wide berth, I wish I did......
