Colony wars still gives me nightmares all these years later. It shows I would be a disastrous space pilot, as i can't keep straight the x,y, and z axis. Every time I tried to get something done i would get lost in this level. Now i'm no programmer, but i'm not an idiot either. not being able to properly navigate in my fighter is clearly a fault of the engine. The truly unfortunate part is that this was the high point of the series.
The difficulty level didn't help matters. Colony Wars alotted little if any room for error. Couple this with the utterly disorienting setup and whoops, "i just crashed my fighter for the 167th time!!"
It was a fascinating idea, but the execution on it was somewhat less than user-friendly. I'd love to be able to recommend this game, but i just can't. The nightmares stop me every time.
