Good, but with some minor flaws.

User Rating: 7.5 | Colin McRae Rally 3 PC
The third installment of the Colin McRae Rally series is, just like the first two games, a great rally game. It is as hard as it should be, a fast car on tight roads where every small mistake will have big consequences.
You'll drive a championship with the Ford Focus, the championship features 6 countries with each 6 normal stages and a super special stage. If you win the championship a new championship will start on a higher difficulty. The game looks great, with a very good damage model. The sounds are also what they should be and the overall presentation is ok, but nothing special.
It is a great rally game, but it has some flaws. First there is the fact that you don't play the official World Rally Championship. You play with Colin McRae, but that is the only 'real' driver in the game. Second is that only six rally's in a championship is a bit short, they featured a total of 8 countries in the game, but these are mixed in the various difficulty settings. The biggest problem I had with this game are the pace-notes. The calls the navigator makes are the most important part of rally racing. In this game I feel that some corners aren't designated the right difficulty. But what's even more of a problem is that sometimes a call is too late; and if a '2 left' is called when you're already at the corner it's just going to be a problem. And in a race game like this you can lose a rally because of that.
In the end I can conclude that it is still a very good rally game that is worth playing, it just isn't as good as the first two games. (7,7/10)
