Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a game based off of the movie which I admit was quite alright but still interesting.
I used to play this game back when I was a big obsessive CWACOM fan and playing it now, I forgot what the controls were and how to play the game, you know. I think I got this game for Christmas or something but never like played it. The game was hard and so I stopped playing.
Playing it now as a teenager, it's now pretty painful and boring to play through. Sure it has entertaining moments such as bouncing on food and it's not unplayable, but still gives me a headache. The game has no invisibility or a way to refill health as in other games, it may seem interesting but that is where the frustration comes in at. It makes the game seem repetitive and hard because you have to start over from the place you were at if you die.
Also, the voice acting for Cal, I noticed is different from the one in the movie; I believe that they may have changed his voice actor, which is also a setback. Another repetitive factor is the dialogue, Flint may be talkative and clever but he shouldn't be saying the same things every time he switches a gadget, uses a gadget, blah blah blah, I get it!
The sounds for the part where you're in the lab scares me for some reason. And what about the intro on the wii screen that prepares for the mediocrity hidden in this game? With unfinished sound and the title falling on a plain white background?
With a hard gameplay that takes quite some time to figure out and painful subtleties, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs could've been an interesting game but is not going to be revisited very often unless you're a very young kid I suppose.
