Today, Cities XXL has been finally realeased after more then 2 years of waiting. If you played Cities XL 2011 and Cities XL 2012 you will notice only one little thing wrong with the game. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS 5 YEARS AGO !
The developers promised new buildings and a better engine. What I've seen is that they only changed the music and the UserInterface. It uses the same engine (laggy and buggy), it has the same textures and buildings. No major changes happen to the actual gameplay to make it more REAL. It's fun for about the first 20 minutes playing the same old tutorials, after that you are let to select your map (90% of the maps are from the old game). From then on it's all the same s**t.
Whats actually NEW?: 5 maps, couple of buildings, pedestrians (that are duplicated everywhere), interface, music (that sounds like turtles having coitus), and.. oh yea the new and fresh PRICE (40 fucking euros).
If this is your first Cities XL game you will be just pleasant surprised because its still a rather good city builder (overlooing the graphics and gameplay) but I still dont recommend this to you. Just wait a bit more for Cities Skylines to release (which might be much better).
In conclusion, if you already paid for it just ask for a refund on Steam because the game is just a hotfix for Cities XL 2012 Platinum. The devs are taking advantage of the first game of the franchise to sell us the same game.
