Chrono Trigger is by far one of the greatest games ever created. With a great story, an amazing battle system and loveable characters, this is a game that belongs in any gamer's collection.

The story in Chrono Trigger is very simple at first. Crono attends a carnival to see his friend's new invention. It malfunctions, and you have to suddenly travel through time to save your friend. Upon rescuing her, things don't go right, and you are suddenly forced into saving the world.

This game involves alot of time travel. Once an area is complete, you will need to go to the same place, but several hundred or even thouds of years from where you are now. Despite being the same locales, they all look very different. Nothing really seems the same from year to year.

The battles in Chrono Trigger are notable for their great originality. Random battles have been completely done away with. Instead, you will encounter your enemies on the regular map screen. You you want to fight, just come into contact with them. Many battles are avoidable because of this system, which is great if you're running low on HP.

The battle system is complex, but not too tough for people to understand. Characters all have regular attacks. They also have technical attacks, which can inflict damage on multiple enemies. THe catch it, the formation the enemies are in will determine how many you can hit at once.

If 2 characters are ready to attack at the same time, you can combine their technical attacks to do even more damage. For example, if a character who can cast fire combines at the same time as some one who attacks with the cyclone (an attack which hits multiple enemies), you can deal fire damage to multiple enemies.

The story takes a mojor role in the game, and its one you will really want to follow. Characters all have their own personality from the time you meet them, and you will grow to care about them.

Chrono Trigger looks beautiful on an artistic and on a technical level. The characters and enemies all have surprising amounts of detail, and ther are tons of enemies to fight. The ares you explore are very interesting, and all have distinctive themes to them depending on what time period you are playing in.

The music is stellar. What plays in the background is very noticeable and is extremely catchy. It chages when battles begin, to something more up beat, and still excellent.

There's really nothing negative to say about Chrono Trigger. With such a great story, the time traveling, the amazing battle system and its presentaion, any one even remotely interested should pick this up.
