Armed helo and a convoy under attack it is your job to get them to safety.

User Rating: 6.5 | Chopper Command 2600
This game was all about you using your attack helicopter and protecting a convoy of trucks as they headed for their destination.

Gameplay: Pretty straightforward the joystick controlled your up and down and forward and back motions. The fire button controlled the one gun your helicopter came with in this game.

The game was a sidescroller and your attackers all came from one direction. Plus you could hold the fire button down and get a rapid fire motion going on. This allowed you to fill the sky with ammo and take out any potential enemy.

Graphics: Standard blocky Atari graphics with some color.

Sound: Standard Atari bleeps and bloops.

Value: Chopper command was a game that was for the most part modeled after Defender. Sidescrolling action a long range radar that allowed you to see what was ahead or in some cases behind you. So if you were into Defender and wanted a similar game this was a good buy for you.

Tilt: Even though this game was clearly a clone of Defender. It still offered some fun. It also came with a challenge from the programmer. If you could score over 10,000 points on Cadet level you could earn an Activisions Commando patch for Chopper Command. Some games from Activision had similar challenges and offered a variety of patches for you to earn. To get the patch after you scored the necessary points or action. You would take a picture of your tv and the score and send it off to Activision. A few weeks later you had your patch.
