This multiple-choice text adventure has a lot of charm - and treasure!
The game looks very beautiful on the iPad, the script font is easy to read and I like the parchment style background. There is no sound, or animations, or any of that sort. It's just a simple text-based game that's well presented and easy on the eyes.It is also very well written and pretty immersive, as far as choose your own adventures goes. It seems deeper than what I remember those old books being like. I was also surprised at the length. It isn't too long a game, but it isn't too short, either. You could easily get through it in one play through roundabout a little over an hour, depending on your reading speed and decisions.
It has more replay value than I would have initially thought, mostly from the high quality of writing. There are also numerous points where I wonder what would have happened were I to take a different action. Fans of choose your own adventure type books, old solo tabletop rpgs, and text adventures will likely get the most enjoyment of this game. It's a nice piece of nostalgia that I'm glad I stumbled upon.
