The Beat Them Up Genre Roars Back With A Vengeance!

Back in the late 1980's and early 1990's, it was pretty easy to find a video game system that had a video game series that was all about the Beat Them Up genre! There was "Double Dragon; Streets of Rage;" and "Final Fight" just to name the more prominent ones. But as the 16 bit era was ending and consoles moved to 32 bits and beyond, the Beat Them Up genre sort of went away. While it's certainly easy to find the original beat them up games available for download on the Nintendo Switch, I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever find a more recent Beat Them Up game that delivered something new and interesting! But at long last, this video game delivers the Beat Them Up genre's long-awaited revenge! In this video game, you play a tall, anthropomorphic rooster named McAllister. And McAllister is one mean, tough bird with a lot of attitude! His goal is to fight through ten mandatory levels and four optional levels, each with anywhere from 10 to 40 waves of enemies! And on the tenth wave of every enemy fight, you have to fight a tough boss! But don't worry if you can't get through a level on the first try; you likely won't ever be able to! Thankfully, not only is McAllister able to level up and get more health on each level achieved, he can also unlock wardrobe outfits and attack weapons that can provide him with more health, defense, and attack, along with other items he can equip to make his fights easier! He can also collect souls (which act as the video games currency) which can give him valuable boosts in health, defense, attack, an attack drone to help you attack, and the option to randomly restore your health after defeating enemies! With amazing graphics, music, sound, and controls; the only thing preventing this game from being perfect is not just the sheer difficulty, but the fact that as far as I can tell; it's not possible to clear the stage called "The First Siege: Hard". There are over 44 waves of enemies, and the symbol on the stage graphic indicates that the waves of enemies are potentially endless. Still, if you want to play an interesting beat them up game that stars an anthropomorphic rooster, it's hard to go wrong with this hard core experience! I highly recommend it for enthusiasts of the Beat Them Up genre! Enough said, true believers!
