What happened to the Chibi Robo I remember from Game Cube?

I must say that Chibi Robo 1 was an amazing, original game that had surprising twists and turns. But then came Chibi Robo Park Patrol. It seems as though Nintendo lost their interest for Chibi Robo after the 1st one. The game does have some cool additions like the vehicles but it doesn't hold a great story like in the 1st one. The first time, you had to save a family from a giant spider robot. This time around you have to save a park from a small cloud of gas. I don't see any excitement from the first Chibi Robo in this one at all, even though I was anticipating this game so badly. It actually took less than 1 day to beat this game just the first time through. But the 1st Chibi Robo had me playing non-stop for days on end, I even replayed it a few times. I'm sorry to say this, but this game is a true letdown.
