Good but not great.

Champions of Norrath.... where do I begin. I will first say that I started rpg's with this game and now I love them. If more rpg's were like this I would have no life. It combines the hack and slash element to the rpg genera. It keeps you in constant suspense about what weapon you will get next or the next boss you will face or what you will see when you turn the corner. Though the game is not perfect the camera angles are a bit bother some and and the hack and slash element does get old after awhile. The game does focus on its qualities by giving plenty of hack and slash action. The creatures and orcs are fun to kill and sometimes creepy to look at up close. The gameplay element is fun and the cinematics are nice to watch. I enjoyed this game because it let me kill the creature instead of pressing o and have the character kill the beast, I can wound it will some arrows then attack it with my mace. That is another thing the games flourishes on. The weapons and magic may be tedious to find, but fun to use. You can use many thing to upgrade your person just like any other rpg, though I find this interface easy to catch on to. It doesn't require to much time to get used to the game and that is why I like it. The game is fun, but not perfect. The camera angles are sometimes annoying. Hovering over the player sometime constantly changing the camera just to see where you are going. The camera angles kind of take away from the game, but the constant hack and slash does get boring. The game is kept alive though with new quests and bosses to fight though the camera might make killing a boss harder than it should. Another miss was the multiplayer. It was not what I expected. If the online play would be like a huge world were everyone could join and play. Instead they have 4 players that would play a single player level together and try to acomplish that objective. It might have been fun if you didn't get kicked every 10 minutes. C.O.N. is a good game to start with rpg's. It didn't keep me interested enough to beat the game. I recommend it to those who like the hack and slash element over the traditional rpg game.Though I hope things are changed for the sequel.
