A great game with great potential, but it is riddled with missing features to the point that I call it BROKEN.

Catan is great. I love Catan. I play the board game and I was quite excited at the prospect of not having to set up and pack away the numerous game peices. And they did a good job with the play and layout and graphics.

But what they forgot was that Catan, being a board game, has a lot of fans that play the board game with friends and neighbors. And they forgot that all friends and neighbors do not own 360's (though they should), and most households do not have multiple 360's, and CATAN is not a game that will sell new 360's.

So the big problem is that there is NO LOCAL MULTIPLAYER. While the online multiplayer is great, the fact that you can't play with more than one person on the same console really ruins the game. The mood to play Catan strikes when you have someone over to play with...well tough luck, play some other game like Carcassonne because Catan screwed you. What a waste of $10.

I realize that there are challenges with this such as showing your hand on screen to other players, but they could have included local multiplayer and let the players decide whether to enjoy it or not. They could have included partial-solutions like the ability to hide or show your hand with a button or something. No local multiplayer is pitiful for a board game based title.

Also, the acheivements are lame and completely lacking in creativity - acheivements are all based on how much you play, these acheivements are not bad, they are just monotonous and uninteresting. Instead of adding achievements like "use all your road peices" or "win without building any cities" or "buy 10 soldiers" or something like that, all of the acheivements are "get 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 7000 victory points". They are all lame and just acrue over time with no special effort or feeling of accomplishment.

Lame. This game is at the same time incredibly well executed in terms of gameplay and incredibly BROKEN in terms of playability and features.
