If you like the original board game you will love this
After about a month of playing the same game I decided to check out the Arcade games. Much to my surprise I find Catan, and having played the board game I decided to check it out. After downloading the game I was very happy to see that the arcade version holds true to the tabletop version in every regard. The only differences I see between the 2 versions are these, first you can trade after building, in the table top you must complete all trades before building. Secondly there is no need to try and remember what cards are in peoples hands. Simply push rb and it displays all cards in play at the time!!! This is handy.
My only complaint about this game is the fact that none of the expansions are present for this game. The tabletop version has several retail additions and quite a few down loadable options from mayfair's website. I would like to see them in the future. Perhaps as additional achievements?
The achievements in Catan are simple, save for 2. Collect 500 points in ranked play and 1000 points in ranked play. Considering if you win you get 10 points, thats WINNING 100 games.... Which is pretty tough to do against other real players (not ai) However I will keep plugging on these.
