Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is really one of the best games of the series. But is it the best and is it a masterpiece? In terms of complexity Symphony strongly loses the previous games of the series, but in terms of diversity, it clearly beats most of the then games (and some modern ones). But the game by modern standards, a weak plot and lack of complexity in the first half of the game. And is it a masterpiece? In terms of in-game capabilities and the atmosphere of Symphony of the Night is certainly a masterpiece. Even the following games of the series could not compete with it (for a number of technical and not only reasons). It's no wonder that the game became an inspiration for many games from large AAA to indie. I very often look for games that would be similar to Symphony in this regard. And while among the major projects I liked the series of games Souls and The Witcher, and among indie games Vedmak(rus), La-Mulana and Dust: An Elysian Tail.
