Castlevania 3 is, without a doubt, the best of the NES Castlevania games. Its multiple pathways and multiple characters allow for a lot of variety and replayability, and its boss battles are pretty good by NES standards. Be forewarned, however, that this game is hard- really hard. The level design is superb, but sometimes the enemy placement can be brutal, and the stairs... sweet merciful crap, the stairs. Whether or not I can recommend this game depends on whether or not you liked the first Castlevania. If you did, you should feel right at home. If not...this is still a great game, don't get me wrong, but it ain't for the faint of heart.
