CA&TA is still recognized by all classic gaming coinsures to be one of the greatest Marvel games ever created.

The Good: The familiar side-scrolling beat'em-up format is incredibly nostalgic, the graphics where directly ported from the arcade version so it stays true to its roots, the audio was also directly ported from the arcade version, and in my opinion the most appealing feature is the ability to play as your favorite super hero.

The Bad: The graphics where directly ported from the arcade version which makes it seem inferior to its SNES counterpart at times, no save points, and it is so incredibly difficult to fight some of the bosses; you'll be fighting some multiple times to learn their pattern which becomes tedious the farther you get into the game.

The game-play is reminiscent of the original arcade game. It’s a side-scrolling beat’em-up with a nice variety of boss fights & playable characters. At the start-up screen you can choose 1-Player or 2-Player then you get to choose your character Captain America, Vision, Hawkeye, & my personal favorite IRON-MAN! The game mechanics are smooth even in multi-player & the graphics though inferior to the SNES version they’re identical to the original arcade game. The game is action-packed with comicy goodness in every bite. I think it’s the BEST Marvel superhero game on the Sega Genesis and one of the greatest Marvel superhero games of all time!

The graphics are beautiful and flow very well from level to level. The articulation in each sprite is nice too; it doesn’t look like every sprite is the same with just different color variations. I do wish Vision was his green self but I’m guessing this was produced prior to him gaining his green color. The sound effects are identical to the original arcade game keeping it true to it’s arcade roots unlike the sluggish and sometimes lagging sound in the SNES version.

This is a hard find especially in good-condition these days, if you do see it snatch it up it’s a classic that holds it’s own even to today’s standards.

I’m a Marvel fanatic this game is EVERYTHING a Marvel fan could ever want and more, I think it’s one of the best Marvel games I own.
