The Best Overall Shooter Experience On the Wii
Call of Duty's controls are mainly based on pointing your Wii-mote at the sensor bar to aim. Motion controls can also be activated for reloading etc. Also, aim-assist is available which will track your target once you put your cross-hairs over them. The aiming works pretty well but some of the motions seem awkward and aim-assist feels cheap. However, the controls are unlikely to hamper your experience.
The campaign is one of the most fun stories I have ever played through. It features the old standby of the sniper and tank missions, but it also has some hold-the-line type situations which I thought were lots of fun. The areas you fight around are very fun and are well-designed. Your two sergeants are some of the most memorable characters I have ever fought with. Sergeant Roebuck and Sergeant Reznov really stand out for their voice-acting, character models and actions. Just an overall outstanding campaign.
The voice-acting in this game is second-to-none. Although it may be a little over-the-top, it still packs a punch and adds to the overall game. The music is not one of the most memorable I have heard, but when it shows up, it adds to the atmosphere.
The thing in this game that really is fantastic is the online multiplayer. It features the same ranking, class, and perk format as in Call of Duty 4, but the fact that it was finally brought to the Wii is amazing. The weapons are fairly balanced [if you know how the use them] and the maps are very diverse and fun.
To wrap up here, Call of Duty is truely just a revolutionary game for the Wii with it's introduction of great multiplayer and the many things that is does right. If you have a Wii and even just remotely like shooters, you should buy this game.
