Sometimes great....

The single player is a set-piece ADD trailer of a game. I went through the whole game twice and never once stumbled upon enemy intel - a friend told me there was some at the training camp....devious bunch of bad guys!! how did they get that close? Anyway, I think I missed all the intel because I only have eyes for headshots.

Its a decent enough one player effort, similar in structure to Uncharted 2 ( and most modern games I guess) in the sense that you are always moving and never in one local for an overlong period of time. That's right, most games now focus on fast thrills and no filler - gone are the cut and paste levels of last gen.

Spec ops is good fun...maybe too easy for skilled players, I would have liked a Left 4 Dead impossible survival mode, but it does the job.

Online is the main game. Sometimes great....sometimes a laggy rage quit playground for kids half the age on the box. I never really played the other COD much...but after some time spent here I managed a 30 killstreak (for me it's good anyway.) When things go right its fun and friends make it a fairly tactical shooter, however you will stumble upon annoying people cheating....teaming up in free for all etc.

Skill on the pad is slightly less important than tactics. If you edge around corners slowly you will tend to rack up kills...So in my opinion less skillful than Halo.
