Second Review

I've already wrote a review of this game on here but I decided to write another now that I've prestiged once and played the game a bit more now. I also wanted to vent again. Like I already said this game is amazing if you like to camp because IW went to unbelievable lengths to make the first ever game that actually allows people to do better by camping than they can do by actually doing good. There are also limitless areas for people to camp in. Despite that though even campers will agree that the spawning in the game is the worst ever in a Cod game. For example: the biggest map, stonehaven, has the worst spawning of every single cod map ever created. Despite being 5 times larger than previous cod maps and the fact that there isn't 5 times as many players per team, I will constantly spawn near the enemy team. Apparently 6 people take up a massive amount of space and there's no room to spawn players with their own team. To add to stonehavens horrible spawning, if you wait the max amount of time before spawning yourself when the game starts and your teams first spawn is in the castle, you can change your spawn to be right behind the enemy team sometimes, I know this is true because I've done it.

Stonehaven isn't the only map with this problem but it does highlight many of the problems with cod games and current fps games in general. A couple hours ago I got into a game on stonehaven where 5 out of 6 players on the other team used a sniper/marksman rifle. Ohh yeah totally evens the odds when a whole team can use one shot kill weapons with unlimited range that don't even need to lead in their target to get a hit. Snipers and LMGs need to become a scorestreaks so a whole team can't just run snipers. I'm not bad at using those guns either, I just grew out of using over powered guns when I was 8 years old. That's kind of old news though as snipers have always been ridiculously too easy to use on cod.

One issue people like to talk about a lot with this game is how easy it is too get killed. Well that's a myth, one that I believed myself at first and then I started getting better at getting headshots and now I see why people die fast. So 1 point to IW for making headshots actually do extra damage. Sort of related to this but none the less still mentioned often is that this game is just recycled from the last game. Did people actually expect IW to something else? Yeah it's recycled, but thats what cod has been since it started and IW is the lazy developer. That would be like expecting an old arthritic person to run a quarter mile faster than a 20 year old healthy track star. For those who don't get the analogy, Infinty Ward = WORSE than Treyarch.

On that note I will highlight aspects of ghosts that earned it a 2 and not a 1. First is squads mode, while not entertaining enough to make this game good, it is good practice to learn the maps so your not running around the massive and confusing maps as blindly. Also squads is played against bots and you can earn the same xp you would earn in multiplayer, so if you aren't leveling up because you don't good because you don't camp and 95% of other people playing are, then squads is a good alternative because the bots don't camp as much. They do camp though, but that was programmed by the same geniuses who did the spawning, so they camp in stupid places such as crouching in the middle of a completely empty and exposed field and not moving. When they do camp they do do it correctly because they don't camp a spot for more than 30 seconds at a time. All that being said squads really isn't good enough to redeem this game from being bad also the most xp I've earned on squads is 2000 or so per game no matter how good or really good I'll do. Other good things about this game there are alot of campers to trash talk and the graphics look pretty smooth, better than battlefield atleast in level detail. In fact it seems like IW concentrated on level detail more than they did on design, so nice looking but terrible to play on maps.

Still the worst part of this game is how much camping is done. There is not enough moving around and the large map size makes it very unlikely you will be able to find anyone, even your own team. Now campers camp because they get to have a high KD (that being said you can get an overall KD of 2.5, which is higher than most KDs, by camping every game you play and getting 5 kills with 2 deaths every game which is by no means an impressive score and in most players opinion that player would not be a good player but a good hider however that player still gets their 2.5 KD even though they have low kills). Alot of campers think people hate on them because the other people aren't good. Well I'm good at cod but not because I need to camp one spot every match, I can do good on the entire map not just a single area. I also challenge alot of campers to a game of 1v1 if they get to thinking their the best cod player ever. Well not a single camper has had the confidence in their game to actually go 1v1. Personally I think if you want to be a good cod player you need to be a little more versatile than doing good in one spot of the map and being completely useless everywhere else. I've played so many games where a player will camp one spot and do extremely good right up until they get kicked out of their camp spot and they start doing horrible until they can get back to their camp spot. Despite how bad campers are it gets pretty boring having to deal with them all the time.

So as to whether you should or should not by this game. If you camp and enjoy camping it's a very clear cut decision: hell yeah buy this game and get the season pass. The decision isn't quite so clear cut if your one of the players that enjoys a fast paced, action packed cod game. The odds you will ever play a fast paced match on this game is very, very, very low so players who enjoyed that may want to wait for the next cod game, which mercifully is going to be a Treyarch game. As for me, I enjoy more fast pace action to camping and I can only play this game for an hour or two and then I get bored having to deal with so many campers and I totally feel like I wasted money buying this game. If your unsure about buying it, rent it for a week, play squads for a day or two to learn the maps and then move onto multiplayer and see how you like it. If you ask me though, I will tell you I'm boycotting IW cod games and only buying Treyarch from now on since Treyarch makes my favorite cod games and IW cod games just seem like place holders to make money in between the Treyarch games.
