Great campain, same old multiplayer with flaws

User Rating: 8 | Call of Duty: Black Ops X360
Mixed feelings with this one. If the game didn't have such an engrossing, superb campain this game would have easily gotten a 6 or below. The only people that are going to take this review at face value are the non-fanboys and/or the ones that have just grown tired to thier approach to multiplayer which hasen't changed much since COD4. They have competition now unlike while COD4 was out and clued in gamers will try out new games, try thier multiplayer and see what they like best. By competition, of course, i mean Battlefield primarily, and others like the less than stellar Medal of Honor, the 10 year old formulae of Halo and the well crafted and innovative Killzone. I loved COD4 and i liked WaW but MW2 left me with a bitter taste of the same BS in multiplayer and this just amplifies it. Since playing Bad Company 2 alot i noticed how odd and inconsistent the ironsights recoil is in this game. The spawn system still drives me nuts and has since COD4, which is completly random. They added a new credit system to buy upgrades but are you really playing anything new? COD is falling into the repetitive abyss that Halo has fallen into where there fanbase wants nothing changed while everyone else is looking for a game with new and fresh ideas and approaches to multiplayer. If you dig that kinda thing or your a fanboy thats fine. But i'll stick with Bad Company 2 for my multiplayer where there are larger (much, much larger) maps, more emphasis on teamwork, vehicles, destructible cover leaving you with nowhere that is safe to camp in for long and squad spawns. Take away everything i just mentioned in my previous sentence and you have Black Ops, a vastly inferior game in terms of multiplayer. Very, Very, Very good campain however and one i suggest everyone plays through.
