Call of Duty 2 big Red One could have been alot better than the way it turned out, but still was a fun game.

The Game is based on the 1st division during World War 2. You travel through North Africa, Sicily, France, and Germany. Just to give a little back ground information on the 1st division for those who don't know about them. They were called the "Big Red One" because of the patch on their arm which had a big red one on it. They were the only division that had been to Africa, throughout Europe and into Germany during the war. Okay now that the history lesson is over with lets get to the game. The good thing about the game is that you are fighting with other battle hardend soldiers other than the MOH games that you play that never have any guys to fight along side of. The bad thing about the game is that the gaphics were not the best and could have been alot better. The game starts out in France and your Sgt. tells you that you have to get the these bridges and control them so the jerries (Germans) can't get a hold of them. you have to go through these buildings to get to it first. once you get to it this tank trys to cross and then the bridge is blown to bits. Once that one goes into the sky you have to find this other bridge and cross it. After that you have to hold off these Germans and then a bomb hits and you get wounded which pretty much concludes that level. Another problem with this game is that the levels and the story mode are much to short. After the level in France you go to north africa as a flash back. In Africa you get to take out a german airfield base and get a hold of a flack gun (a flack gun is a gun that shoots down planes from the sky) to shoot planes out of the sky. Also in Africa you have to stop this huge French attack on your men. Back to the history lessen, the french were on the germans side 1941-1942. After Germany took over their country they became allies with the Americans, French, British, and Russians. Back to the game. Once out of Africa you go to Sicily. There you storm the beach of Sicily and then help some of the 82nd Airborne out of this middle of this town just right by the beach which you just stormed. Heading into France was supposed to be my favorite but turned out differently. Your not in a higgins boat at D-Day your on this ship to shoot at bunkers on the beach to help the guys landing there. Your ship blow up and then you make it to the shore. You have to destroy many machine gun nests, take out nazis in trenches and destroy these morters in 3 bunkers. The problem was that the beach at Normandy was a mile long the beach in the game is about 10 to 20 ft. Also your guys on the beach die from this invisible wall not even getting shot. During your time in France you have to take out this farm and thats about all. Going into germany was probably my favorite part of the game. You go through this town that is filled with snow. You can go through houses, throw grenades in them and watch Germans fly out of them. The last level you have to take the Rine River and destroy these missiles. The AI was okay but could have been alot better because it was a COD game, but it was fun all in all.
