True Horror but could be better. AT LEAST TRY IT

this game truly demostrates how true horror should be like. Right from the beginning you ll be scared and you ll walk insted of running.
This game is a first person survival horror-adventure-shootem up. yeap it has a little bit of everything but it doesn ot exceel in something , meaybe except horror.
the first 40% of the game was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. you were investigating Innsmouth ,a trully horrific town i bet noone would stay even for an hour,
and you unravel its secrets slowly. and you DONT get a gun.
you RUN to avoid those who want you sacrificed or dead. that is what i call true horror. the chases and the stealth are SO intense!
i played the majority of the game on headphones. the sound is marvellous. graphics are quite dated but they get the job done easily.
there was a feature in this game taht alla the games should have.
sanity meter. you see your character has a sanity meter which in some various distrurbing images or places drops . when it drops you have vsisions like your screen turnong left and right like you are on drugs, you hear your own voice saying spooky things, you even SUICIDE if you have a gun and sanity drops much.
but in this place is where the good things stop
the bad things are that in the middle of the game (when you get a gun) the game seems to loose the horror elements. chapter 6 and 7 sucked imo.
they were boring and too linear.then next chapters to the end where almost but not quite. also while in the the 40% of the game there is a lot of invstigating and examining in the next part of the game there is LITTLE.
in example you can examine almost eveything in the game from tables to forks to cars to paintings (like silent hill abd resident evil), it gives a touch of horror, but later little can be examined.
overall it was a nice gaming experience and you should deffinatetly play this game if you are looking for horror or into lovecraft.
if you play this be sure to download a non official patch and give a very little increase in speed and walk speed cause there is a bug at the end where you need to escape.
i give a 8, i had a great time but it could be better from the middle part of the game.
