It ain't as easy as Diner Dash, that's for sure

I'm sure a lot of people has already tried ... or at least has an idea how to play Diner Dash. Well this game is pretty much like the said title, with the difficulty level multiplied by five.

My girlfriend loved Diner Dash, and she plays it 'till her DS screen protector rubs off and her eyes starts to water. And as simple as that game might look like, it's actually pretty challenging. Now if we're going to remove the dragging of customers to their seats and just focus on the touchscreen tapping element, we'll pretty much end up describing this other game called Cake Mania. And I thought at first this game is going to give my gf a slightly more challenging experience, but I was wrong.

Gameplay is simple, you handout customers the menu, bake the cake that they ordered, dress it up with icing, and add up a decoration on top if requested. Sounds easy enough but when you're bombarded with 4 customers ordering more than 1 cake or a cake on top of another with varying icing and decorations, then the experience immediately become frustrating. Practice might help you get better with this game, but I just couldn't imagine myself being able to finish the very last level and still have the DS in one piece.

There are upgrades that you can purchase from your earnings like extra baking unit, icing station, decoration, and even shoes for faster movement etc. There are different locations to choose from which also changes the looks of your customers.

Graphics is only on the okay side. Same can be said with the audio. Controls however is pretty accurate. Which is necessary because most of the items that you click is sitting just a few pixels away from the other.

This game in my opinion is focused on providing a challenging experience but that also caused it to fail miserably because casual gamers will find this really frustrating. I know that I am not the best gamer out there, but I cannot imagine a kid or an adult playing the later levels of this game and in the process still have a smile on their faces. I still recommend Diner Dash for those who are looking for a simple, fun, and not-so frustrating game.

.:My reviews are only as good as everyone else's. Take every single one of them with a grain of salt:.
