User Rating: 6.5 | Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2005 Adventures PS2
Good: Authentic weapons, gear, and hunting techniques. Good range of animals to hunt. Interesting experience for hunters or would-be hunters.

Bad: For people used to other shooters like Halo (or any other FPS on the market) you'll probably find the gameplay too slow and tedious. Graphics aren't up to par, and the fatigue bar is simply way too annoying. If you go into this game with the mindset of it being a "hunting simulation", you can actually enjoy the game. If you start up the game thinking you can run around Halo style and kill Bambi, you will drop this game faster than a flaming pile of dog turds. Real life hunting usually involves spending time scouting out a good location, setting up a tree stand, ground blind or whatever depending on the game you're hunting, and then waiting until the animal appears. You're looking at hours or days of waiting with no guarantee anything will show up or that you will bag it. That doesn't translate well into a video game. Although this game doesn't do too bad a job of it. It's pretty satisfying to successfully creep through the forest and then snipe some unlucky critter in the head from as far away as possible. Bottom Line:
For people looking for a fairly realistic hunting experience, give this a try. It's got some annoyances, but it can ultimately be satisfying. I still recommend you rent first however.

People used to fast paced shooters and action games, I wouldn't recommend this for you. If you're curious, rent the game first.
