You can't go wrong because its free!!!

User Rating: 7 | CABAL Online PC
Cabal is a free MMORPG that can be both entertaining and frustrating. Before I break this down into catgories just realize that if your an avid WoW or EQ2 gamer this game won't impress.

Character Creation: 7
Really not a whole lot of customization here. The only race to play is humans and there were often times where I saw character that looked the same as the guy next to him. There are six classes, but besides the special moves there are only minor variances. Each class has a different mix of the three primary stats Strength, Intelligence, and Dexterity. Now here is a quick breakdown of the classes:

Warrior: You basic melee class putting almost all his skill points into strength while neglecting INT and DEX. Does good melee damage and can take a decent amount of damage.

Blader: Wields dual blades and balances skill point distribution between DEX and STR. Hits quick and alomst never misses, also harder to hit.

Wizard: Basic Magic casting class that has puts all his stat points into INT. Wizards do the most damage in tha game, but cant take a whole of damage in return.

Force Archer: Summons a bow to shoot elemental arrows at enemies. Good balance of INT and DEX. Does good damage, but in parties will mainly play a support class. Has a little better defense than a wizard.

Force Shielder: Fights with sword and summoned shield. A general balance of all stats with a moderate lean towards STR. These guys never die. A Force Shielder can take insane amounts of damage. Probably the best class for solo leveling due to sheer defense. Does the least amount of damage.

Force Blader: Wields a sword and wizards orb. This class specializes in DoTs and Debuffs. Does moderate damage with magic, but sword skills dominate the duels. This class is really only for patient or skilled players.

Alright thats the classes in a wrap. Character customization is a bit limited, but there is enough here to have fun with.

Gameplay: 9
Plays out alot like other MMORPGs. The combo system in this game makes it a little more interesting and interactive than other MMOs. Overall I think the gameplay is a bit better than alot of other MMOs. Also the special battle modes that you unlock at 20,30, and 50 add a nice touch to the game. If one feature from this game could be added to another game it would be the battle mode feature. This is a life-saver. Battle mode boost your stats a ton and can pull you out of of tight spots say if you accidentally agro too many enemies.

Quests: 4
Rinse. Lather. Repeat. All the quests in this game require hardcore grinding for every quest. Serious downfall in game. Can make progress really slow and boring.

World: 7
When You first start out the world seems like its a pretty good size, but as you keep playing you soon realize that its actually really small. The three different zones look alot different, but in each the creatures are clustered into little zones. Even though more areas are unlockable as you level its really not enough to keep you from growing bored.

Sound: 6
Besides the Desert Scream song which still gets repetive all the music is kinda dull and annoying.

Graphics: 7
Not bad looks quite a bit like Guild Wars(or so I think). Not impressive, but not horrible either.

Overall: 7
Cabal if a fun game to play for a short amount of time, but if your looking for a good, quality, and long term experience look somewhere else. For a free MMORPG Cabal is a good game, but don't expect to be WoWed.
