Bulletstorm is an electrifying, action-packed and waaaay "over the top" shooter

I can't say otherwise but admit that I am a huge Gears of War fan. It is the only game that I play in a multiplayer, especially its Horde mode. I have also grown to like the story behind the franchise and one could only imagine that I was in a search of something similar when it comes to characters, voice acting and action. Epic Games were involved in another shooter that came out a few months back, a first-person game that promised to be action-packed. So, after finally investing my hard-earned money on this title I am full of great remarks about a good Gears of War substitute.

Story
Bulletstorm tells a story about a hired mercenary named Greyson Hunt. Him and his crew are being employed by General Serrano and given assassination missions all over the galaxy. The backstory reveals that Hunt and his men are being betrayed by their employer and given bounties on their heads. Without spoiling I would only say that our main hero is set on a mission of revenge, which takes place on a planet, being in a war of tribes and criminals. The story is not unique, but it is the perfect ground of an action packed FPShooter, isn't it? 8/10

Graphics
The graphical presentation of Bulletstorm is pretty good. The scenery and locations are vivid, even though some of the resolutions are not very high. Overall, good graphics. 8/10

Sound/Voice Acting
Bulletstorm has an outstanding voice cast. The soundtrack is heavy on rock tracks and it is generally very appropriate with the vibe that this title is creating. 9/10

Gameplay
Bulletstorm is a shooter which has a motto of "kill with skill". The more skillful your kills are, the more points you will receive. These points are used to upgrade your weapons, purchase ammo and compare leaderboards rankings. The story campaign is quite linear but a whole lot of fun with engaging battles. 8/10

Overall
Bulletstorm is a solid first-person shooter with over the top dialogue and story. But is it fun? Yes! Is it engaging? Yes! Is it worth getting? YES! Fans of Gears of War characters and dialogue would find Bulletstorm a similar experience with a little lesser value, but worth the time. 7.5/10
