yea - the actual racing is, well, similar to burnout2 on the gc. great 7 years ago! now though????

burnout2 was considered brilliant on the gamecube. I have burnout2, play it on my wii once in a blue moon.

welll let's see here. buildnrace hasn't got terribly great visuals. it doesn't have a story. it doesn't have very interesting locations pre-built, but all the same they do the job ok and aren't really that far off from burnout2 or similar.

the cars are ok too, but nothing special. I'm rather disappointed in the driving experience itself, pretty well every nfs since undercover had better graphics and better driving experiences than this game has imho.

but the ability to build your own tracks is stellar, and while I wish they'd supported a usb keyboard to make it a much funner experience, it still works very very well. you need to use intelligence when creating banks into/out of turns and so on. experiment until you get it right. I do'nt konw how some people are creating such complex tracks with this thing, patience I guess, but certainly worth it!

I just wish the racing was actually better, oh and the sound too, rather drab. considering how far they got, they should have brought in a great audio/racing coder guy for a month on contract to finish off the final 10% of this thing and help fix some little bugs. would have been a great game!!

but still it's a "GOOD" game and unique, worth it at a bargain bin price I guess. not worth what I paid... but it's ok, I still enjoy it for the money.

definitely NOT an immersive game story etc though, if you want that, get ANY nfs game, even undercover which I actually quite preferred to this, or carbon which is a great game in almost every way, or the up coming nfs out in a month.
