This was basically The Legend of Zelda remake for the SNES . It was downloadable for the BS-X Satellite ad-on.

The BS-X Satellite was a really cool device for the Japanese Super Famicom owners. It was like the Sega Channel for the SNES. You had to wait certain times of the day to download releases which were stored in the BS-X device hooked to the bottom of the system. It was usually just demos or modified versions of common games. Most of the games were; F-Zero, Super Mario Kart, a Chrono Trigger text adventure, etc.... Then, there was a release for The Legend of Zelda. It was basically the original game with the graphics quality of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I never got to play it since it was only released in Japan and there is no way you can ever buy it (It was only for download and you had to have the BS-X). I did see some screen shots and heard some samples of the music from it. Some people did manage to find a way to play it somehow. Maybe they bought a BS-X from somewhere in Japan with it loaded.

Nintendo should really put this on a collections disc one day. It would be fun to see what if Legend of Zelda was made for the SNES instead of the NES. Cool stuff!!!!!
