I had already heard a lot of good stuff being said about this game, but i was never convinced to get this and try this as it sounded a little indie-ish. Not that i don't like indies its just that i have a mentality of thinking indies are not worth paying for. This month PSN offered it for free for PsPlus members and i finally decided to download and play the game. Boy was i wrong !
First of all, what i noticed was the weird ass (read as freaking awesome) controls which i think i have never played before in any other game. The controls are very simple you use LS to control the big brother and RS to control the Smaller brother. Controlling the two brothers were a little irritating in the beginning but once you get used to it you'll have no problems. The controls are pretty responsive and it is an absolute blast to control the two brothers simultaneously and traverse through the game solving various sorts of puzzles.The level design is brilliant, creating some of the most fun and exhilarating platforming sections i have played in recent times. The graphics are good too and you will be encountering some really well designed mythical creatures throughout the game which kind of gives the game a fairy tale-ish feel.For a game like this you wouldn't expect a good story but Tale of two sons has an emotional story about love and family bonds, which is portrayed beautifully by this game. My only complain about this game is that it was really really short. You can finish the game off in like 4 hours which is too short for a single player only game. I would've loved for it to be around 8-10 hours. This game had the potential to be that long and if it was that long i would've ended up giving it a solid 9. But i probably would've ended up complaining even then as i had so much fun with this game.
Overall it was great game with innovative and never-seen-before game controls and mechanics with a beautiful emotional story.
