Brink is a great game But could have been fantastic

Well Brink was a game I've always been pretty interested in since the previews a kind of free running shooter like mirrors edge. The game looks a lot and looks like it has a lot to offer but in ways it lacks content.

The game takes place at a facility in the future for mankind's stability and future called the Arc. You can either play as the Arc security trying to stop the rebellion or the Rebellion. The Rebels live in the slums outside the Arc and want the Arc for themselves. The game is a mission and objective based game where you have to complete certain objectives to pass the level. Completing these objectives either unlocks the next objective or completes the level.

The objectives involve things like destroying objectives, hacking objectives, transporting, protecting personell etc. Some objective can only completed with certain classes. In brink there are 4 classes...

- Solider which have demolition charges to blow up objectives, they can also provide the team with ammo as well as replenishing their own ammo which is useful as you don't get enough as well as having molotovs

- Engineer has the fixing objectives. They can also buff their weapons to provide more damage aswell as passing that benefit to other team members, They can place and dismantle landmines and build sentry turrets aswell as building MG nests.

- Medic has the power to revive and boost team members health

- Operative is useful for hacking objectives they can also disguise themselves as the enemy and have special grenades.

The whole game is based on levels where you have to complete these objectives. Some times you'll be Offensive which means you have to try and complete the objectives, or defensive where you need to stop the enemy completing these objectives. The storyline is the same for each side just on the opposite team for example on the 1st mission The Security will be offensive where if you play as the rebellion you'll be defending.

The game also features challenge mode which are challenges like get too all the checkpoints, protect the objective and so on. Completing these unlocks new weapons and attachments. Brink offers a kinda large variety of weapons and attachment aswell as customisation for your characters, which can be unlocked as you level up, You get XP for kills and objectives.

The games graphics are perfectly fine and the game has a nice refreshing feel to it on the arc levels giving a mirrors edge feel.

The only bad points I really have of the game is that the objectives can be pretty frustrating at times especially with the AI. The AI will go off completing secondary objectives where you'll find yourself on your own sometimes with nobody protecting you trying to complete a primary objective.

Overall a great game but it could have offered more in terms of the campaign and better AI.

+ Fresh new way to play
+ Nice area designs

- Not enough ammo
- Annoying AI
- Hard mode frustratingly hard
