Pros are that there is a variety of modes and good graphics for back then days.
It's easy to handle and loads of fun. The career mode is great and much better than the Playstation 1 version which is very restrictive. There is loads of fun and commentary and there isn't much difficulty to learn the controls!
It's fair on both fielding and batting!
Loading isn't long and there is loads of statistic about what you have done.

Cons are you might find the test matches boring and a bit repetitive and that the World Cup should be more glamorized. There are not many players for teams that are not good but are known like Zimbabwe, Ireland , Namibia, and Holland but you would not use those teams. The points of how good your teams are don't really affect how good they are, you actually find that teams like Namibia have more luck catching the ball than Australia.

All in hand Brian Lara is a great game and that playing is fun there a few glitches but you forget them and play without bothering. 8/10!

Well done to Codemasters!
