Extremely addictive, fun and in the same vein as Super Smash Bros.

Brawlhalla is a free game with microtransactions in place to make $$. Don't let that turn you off from playing this game though. Brawlhalla has some of the most fun fights you've ever played!! Trying to get your rank up in online matches is very fun. Just like Super Smash Bros., anyone can pick up the controller and play but people who put time into the mastery of the skills will truly prosper. You start off with a certain amount of characters unlocked and you can earn gold through battles to unlock new characters. Or, every week they rotate who is unlocked and who isn't, keeping your unlocks always there.

Each character has 2 different weapons that you can get while you battle, besides that you get landmines and bombs to chuck at your foe. The battles are really fun, you attack your opponent trying to knock them off the edge. Each character has 2 jumps plus and upward attack to help them stay alive. You have the fast weaker attacks and the stronger skilled attacks. Just like in Smash Bros., depending on which way you hold the joy stick determines the type of attack your character will do.

There are tons of unlocks, you can unlock different skins, different colors for your character and weapons. You also get a special currency for team battles at the end of every cycle for unlocking unique gear. Although you could pay to unlock stuff, you can get mostly everything for free if you play it right. Although some things can only be obtained through blue orbs which cost real money.

You can play 1 vs 1, 2 on 2 on ranked and a bunch of different types of matches in unranked. Everything earns you gold, not everything earns you ELO. Also, every week they do a unique challenge that will earn you more gold than usual. For example one week they had you invisible unless you move to your foe adding some more fun to the gameplay.

Brawlhalla is highly addictive and fun to play. There are masters and noobs and you'll find out real quick which category you are in. If you're a beginner, all it takes is some good practice to master the art. Each character is a little different to master. Some are slower and powerful, some are fast with less health, but mostly all characters are well balanced.
