Is it a shooter? Is it an RPG? Borderlands masterfully blends these two genres together in a fun, lengthy, and highly addicting Role-Playing Shooter.

The graphics in Borderlands are perfectly crafted cell-shaded style. Usually you see games use a mix of graphic schemes, but Borderlands uses only cell-shaded style, giving it the feel of wastelands and constant gunfights, similar to the old west.

The score matches the landscape perfectly. Outside of combat, there is a desolate and barren theme. Once the action picks up, a more lively tone replaces it. The graphics and music work together to provide a perfectly fitting atmosphere for this game.

This game merges the elements of an RPG and an FPS beautifully. You choose from 4 highly unique classes in the beginning. As time goes on, you customize your character with unique colors, weaponry, and items. Eventually, you choose what path in your class you wish to take with class mods. Each class has about 7 different choices for class mods, allowing for even more customizing. It puts in the popular FPS elements as well. Looking down sight, needing to take cover, what you would expect them to include. They merge that with customization and the result is a fully-functioning system that enhances the gaming experience.

The story is a good topping on this amazing game. The story helps keep you addicted to this game. With ample side quests and a very interesting main storyline to follow, Borderlands is a game that will keep you playing for a long time to come. This game is definately worth buying.
