Boom Boom Rocket grabs your attention well enough so that if you don't have DDR at the moment it'll keep you busy.

User Rating: 8.2 | Boom Boom Rocket X360
Gameplay: Think DDR, but with a controller. You can choose to play with the D-Pad or the A, B, X, Y configurations as you time your button pressings to the beat of the tune you're listening to. Remind you of something? Ya, anyway, sometimes it can ramp up the difficulty by having you press two directions or buttons at the same time, and lag exists that will leave you wondering why your button press didn't get analyzed correctly. When your combo meter fills up you can pull a trigger button to ramp up your score and the effects of your fireworks. There are a selection of 12 or so songs, with Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties as well as Endurance, Visual Shows, and the ability to unlock new fireworks.

Graphics: The fireworks look pretty great, and the unlockable fireworks also look pretty neat (they're usually in the form of something unusual that really differentiates it). The bad part is that when the fireworks really get rolling it can be hard to see what button you should press, as the fireworks explode at the point where you press the appropriate direction.

Sound: The real selling point of this game, the catchy and cheesy tunes that you'll be humming in your head until you just have to pick up the game to play it again. The songs are done well, but that's not much variety as well as not many songs to listen to.

Value: Limited song selection, leaderboards, achievements, replayability in terms of different difficulties and mastering songs. Overall the value is decent enough, as well as the replayability of BBR.

Reviewer's Tilt: Does the rhythm-game formula decently enough but questionable at 800 MS points ($10). Try the trial.
