Ain't this special. One of my favorite fighting games...getting an 8 from me...
Generic fighters: Mortal combat (Ever since 3)
Generic fighters with a gimick (X-men anything.)
Legends: Marvel Versus Capcom II, Soul Calbur, Dead or Alive, and Tekken.
Bloody Roar Primal Fury is right inside Generic Fighters with a sweet gimick.
Transforming into a animal any time you choose, you can unleash some crazy combos that are sweet with replays and painful looking moves.

But that's about it. The characters arn't clones from each other most of the time, but there is no deep gameplay mechanic such as Soul Calibur's counter system and eight way dodge. The closest thing you get to counters and dodging is auto-dodge when you press y at the right time and to counter, you must know that characters counter move that isn't in the manual or command list.
Still, this is a very solid and polished game that is worth anyone's time....
for awhile.
Fans of the series will miss the speed, but it feels much more controlled and quicker loading times.
