Blasphemous is a tough, intriguing action platformer that takes place in the fictional world of Cvstodia. The game puts you in the role of a silent warrior engaging in a pilgrimage to an unknown purpose, in a strange land inhabited by monsters and twisted locales. It is very much likened to Castlevania Symphony of the Night, albeit much more difficult; but Blasphemous is a haunting, extremely intriguing world where very few of humanity are left, most of which were killed off or transformed into monsters by a supernatural event known as the Miracle. It has some frustrating moments and can be punishing at times, but overall I recommend it even after my initial frustrations with the game.
