Brooding, intense, eerie atmosphere

Story 9/10

Megolomanical billionaire decides to build a city underwater without moral, legal or ethical constraints. You arrive after its all gone to sh-t.

Setting 9/10

Very atmospheric, instense, dark and brooding. Walking through halls and wondering where the babbling splicer you can hear is and where they'll jump out at you. Or listening to the loud plodding footsteps of a big daddy and his accompanying LIttle Sister and wondering what to do with her.

Graphics 8/10

The human textures appear plastic, otherwise the graphics are very good.

Gameplay 9/10

Like system shock it seems absurd but it moves the story along that people leave tape recorders all over the place. My only real dislike is that enemies respawn when I return to rooms I've previously cleared. I don't know if its a difficulty thing, or Xbox because my friend who has the PC version says enemies don't respawn on him.
