In its own way, it's much better than the first Bioshock.

So many people seem to be basing their opinion or review of the game on it's predecessor... This practice is just wrong and flawed. I've said it before, if you want a game that does nothing that the original does, don't buy the sequel to a game you already own. It's much like the first part of the two, and that is just great! But here's the difference: Bigger, better guns, more natural feeling combat, an atmosphere of suspense only paralleled by it's first part, and more objectives that are challenging, haunting, and rewarding. All these things take on the style of Bioshock and improve upon it. To read that it's "the same thing" is just an ignorant, and shallow thought. The graphics are along the same line a lot more eerie and disturbing, making for a game that feels somewhat like a horror game at times and will keep you on edge for certain moments; and who doesn't love a good scare now and then? The new enemies add a certain amount of variety and keep you wondering when you get to take a Brute or Little Sister down and reap the major benefits of taking the loot after a fast paced battle. Adopting and guarding Little Sisters is a much more rewarding feeling then just harvesting them as soon as you find them, and is, in fact, more meaningful knowing that you are a Big Daddy and they trust you as such. I found myself having to force me to take a break from the game, simply to prolong the adventure, but it has to end some time. If you take your time, it can take a good 14 hours after searching every nook and cranny thoroughly, which is what I chose to do. The gameplay has been refined so much in terms of the dual-wielding of both plasma and rivet gun, etc. The mechanics are improved on as well, and the act of shooting a gun is much easier and smoother than before. Overall, I would honestly give this game a 10 everytime, even though it eventually ends quicker than I would like it to. If you liked the first Bioshock and have been waiting to throw some more plasmids and shoot some more guns toward a new objective with all aspects improved, the this is your game. (Just be sure to set it to hard for maximum enjoyment.)
